If a potential opportunity/lover/friend/collaborator is not stoked on what they’re doing, their life, and the relationship they are cultivating with YOU–let it go. There is something that is exciting, stimulating, and inspiring waiting to fill that spot.
If you’re shutting up your real feels, I have no time to coax your enthusiasm out of you. Be lit up about it, or find something else that does. (Find your Full-Body Fuck Yes.)
Playing it cool is a way of dimming your light, vibrancy, intensity. We play it cool because we’re afraid of ourselves and what this situation could bring out of us.
I used to loooooove this game and was SO good at it: I’ve spent so much of my life feigning disinterest to the point of being downright frosty, pretending that I’m not as into this person as I feel I am, that I don’t want something as much as I do.
Mainly because I was afraid of my feels.
When we don’t feel and express our desire, we diminish our capacity for pleasure.
Yes, we might be safer. But let’s be real: you’re gonna get hurt anyway, and playing it safe isn’t interesting–We cannot grow when we’re entirely comfortable.
At the same time, recognize when You are not someone’s Fuck Yes.
You do not have time to muck in grey passivity and indifference–it sucks out our life force, our time, and blocks better things from coming in.
“Believe in your heart that you’re meant to live a life full of passion, purpose, magic & miracles.” Roy T Bennett
